It is a combination of Palua(arrowroot)jaggery/sugar,yogurt(curd), wherein the palua is, soaked for half an hour to remove the stringent (Kasa)taste. Then cooked with a pinch of salt by adding water to a semi-solid consistency and sieved through a Sieve to over the sweetened curd. As this semi-solid Palua (comes down )falls from the sieve-like as thick Strings, it has got the name Jhara Palua.
